- Infosys Technologies Ltd. (Technical)
o Completed 5 months formal induction training in C and Java.
o Project – DHL
· Part of 3 member team in 2 months maintenance project which required modification of existing functionalities in the HD 745 scanners used by DHL for barcode scanning. The project was implemented in C.
· Part of a 6 months development project team of 4 members for the incorporation of several add-on functionalities in advanced HC 500 scanners used by DHL. It involved scanner code modification in C# as well as remote server code modification in C++. This project also required alteration of backend data in Oracle database.
· Single-handedly accomplished a major development project of duration 2 months which required the implementation of Bluetooth functionality in HC 500 scanners. The project aimed at enabling scanning with ring scanners while the scanned barcodes would be displayed on the HC500 scanner screen by API invocation. C# and Embedded Visual C++ were the programming languages used.
o Project – CHEP
· Part of 13 member team in a development project of duration 5 months which required real time tracking of containers worldwide. The project was implemented in ASP.Net, with SQL Reporting Sever at the backend.
o Handled design, development, testing and configuration management in each of the above projects. The challenges posed by all these time-critical projects were enormous as I had to familiarize myself with totally new programming languages without having any formal training in them.
- The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd. (Non – technical/Middle Management)
§ Completed 3 months formal training on various general insurance policies.
§ I was initially given motor underwriting department, wherein I was successful in issuing on an average 100 policies daily to our major client, M/S ABT Industries Ltd. Was successful in scaling down the pending work in motor underwriting department to manageable levels within 1 month of joining.
§ Thereafter, handled motor own damage claims department, wherein all the pending claims were cleared off in less than a month and ensured that claims were being serviced on the same day on which documents were submitted, which earned our office the reputation for speedy settlement of claims amongst all offices in the country.
§ Also handles miscellaneous underwriting department, GUC accounts returns and agency management.
§ Gained the trust of my superiors in such a way that I was given additional responsibilities of managing more than one department simultaneously at the time of contingencies, which I have been able to carry out successfully till date.
§ Have received good feedback from my superiors as well as major customers several times.
