ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
7th semester
Mini Project title: “GRAPHICS EDITOR”
Purpose:
The aim of this project is to develop a 2-D graphics package which supports basic operations which include creating objects like lines, circles, polygons, spirals, etc and also transformation operations like translation, rotation, etc on such objects. The package must also have a user-friendly interface that may be menu-oriented, icons or a combination of both.
Description:
It allows user to create an image, revise an image and save it to a file. The primary elements being manipulated in a graphics editor are image of the target document.
8th semester
Project title: “NETWORK INTRUSION DETECTION SYSTEM” using .NET platform
Goal of NIDS:
It detects an intruder, identify and stop intruders, support investigations to find out how the intruder got in and stop the exploit from use by future intruders.
Description:
The objective of this project is to detect an intruder in a network traffic. For this purpose, we are using PacketX and Winpcap which is supported in networking. PacketX uses Winpcap packet driver API implemented by Packet.dll and BPF filtering support from pcap.dll. This means that you can use PacketX to capture, send packets and collect network statistics. PacketX cannot be used to block network traffic to build a firewall. The application is being developed using .NET platform. It uses MS Sql server 2000 as the backend and PacketX and Winpcap as components.
